JIFSAN collaborated with the Government of Belize - Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) to deliver a GAP Train-the-Trainer program in Belize City, Belize August 11-14, 2014. Sixteen of the twenty seven participants were from BAHA, three were from the Pesticides Control Board, three from industry and the remainder from other international organizations. In addition to classroom lectures, case studies and discussion sessions, the group had the opportunity to visit papaya production and handling facilities that export their fruit to the U.S. All indications were that the program was on target to meet the needs of the Belize produce industry for food safety training.
