Seafood HACCP and Good Fishing Vessel Practices (GFvP) Workshops in Kochi and Visakhapatnam, India, September 2018

Two Train-the-Trainer Workshops on Seafood HACCP and Good Fishing Vessel Practices (GFvP) were conducted in India as a joint effort between JIFSAN and the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA). The first four-day workshop was held in Kochi September 4-7 and the second in Visakhapatnam September 9-12. Several organizations involved in seafood training were represented at each workshop, which focused on the food safety requirements for export to the U.S.  Feedback from participants indicated that the training was successful. The 64 new trainers will be extending their knowledge of Seafood HACCP and GFvP to key groups associated with India’s seafood industry.
