JIFSAN delivered three Train the Trainer Programs for the US-FDA Produce Safety Rule in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Peru

JIFSAN collaborated with the USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service, the Instituto Interamericano de CooperaciĆ³n para la Agricultura (IICA), and other in-country authorities to deliver three Train the Trainer (TTT) programs for the US-FDA Produce Safety Rule (PSR). The first was in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic October 16-19, 2017, the second was in Guatemala City, Guatemala October 24-27, 2017, and the third was in Lima, Peru November 7-10, 2017

The programs focused on the delivery of the PSR TTT materials developed by the Produce Safety Alliance, which is a partner with JIFSAN in the newly formed Produce International Partnership (PIP). The US-FDA was represented at each meeting to give an overview of FSMA and address questions and concerns about new FSMA rules. A total of approximately 112 participants completed the programs and become positioned to apply to the PSA for Lead Trainer status.
