JIFSAN delivered a Grower Training program for the US-FDA Produce Safety Rule in Managua, Nicaragua, August 7-11, 2017

JIFSAN collaborated with the USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service and the Instituto Interamericano de CooperaciĆ³n para la Agricultura (IICA) to deliver a program for Grower Training (GT) for the US-FDA Produce Safety Rule in Managua, Nicaragua, August 07-11, 2017. This was the international pilot for a JIFSAN delivery of the Produce Safety Rule GT using materials developed by the Produce Safety Alliance, which is a partner with JIFSAN in the newly formed Produce International Partnership (PIP). The program included additional guidance presentations for the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices. Approximately 55 people completed the course, which included an industry visit to a fresh dragon fruit farm and packinghouse.
